Mountain Biking Wisconsin

WI Mountain Biking Trails are getting lonely without you...

Mountain biking Wisconsin any time soon?  The state of Wisconsin is littered with great mountain biking trails. If you are tired of riding the same local trails, strap your bike to the car and hit the road. You might find you have underestimated this beautiful state and what it offers the mountain biking community.

Wisconsin Biking Trails

Before you hit some new Wisconsin Biking trails, do a little research.  Mark and Gary Barden of Fat Tire Guides have done an excellent job at documenting Wisconsin's mtb trails. Visit their site for great information on mountain biking Wisconsin and I know you'll be as impressed as I am with the work they have done.  They even let you know if you should be expecting a parking fee or not.  Now that's some practical information.  Have you ever found a great trail-head only to realize you don't have the cash you need to pay the parking fee?  That really bites...

Are you a fan of mountain biking sites that require an annual/monthly fee, or do you prefer free services?  This is a website that is very informative and free to use, I give it my highest recommendation. Fat Tire Guides gets two thumbs up.

Google maps makes it easy to spot local bikes shops.  Use the map below to search for the mountain biking shop that meets your needs.  You'll definitely want to find a local bike shop that you can trust if you haven't already.  Great bike shops don't just sell great equipment, they facilitate organized rides that challenge you to ride new trails, and they should help you meet other people mountain biking Wisconsin.

Mountain Biking - Wisconsin Clubs

Most bike clubs are closely associated with a bike store if not synonymous with one.  Below are some of Wisconsin's most active bike clubs.  If you want to get into this amazing sport more than you are, check out one of  the clubs below.  WORBA facilitates Wednesday evening rides as long as trails are open for biking.  All three of these clubs are members of the International Mountain Biking Association.

  • Wisconsin Off-Road Bicycling Association (WORBA)
  • Chequamegon Area Mountain Bike Association (CAMBA)
  • Lacrosse Velo Club (LV Club)
