Idaho Mountain Biking
Mountain Biking Idaho This Summer?
Idaho mountain biking has everything from forested singletracks, to wide open trails. You'll find freeride parks, cross country rides, and trails that challenge mountain bikers of all levels. After a long cold winter, Idahoans and the rest of the Pacific Northwest welcome the summer months...mountain biking season!
The gem state, Idaho, offers some nice mountain biking backcountry. The landscape is rugged, one of the largest natural and undeveloped areas in the entire United States. The Rocky Mountains run the entire length of the state providing miles of mountain biking glory.
Snow-capped mountains, rivers, lakes, and the nation's deepest Canyon (the snake river canyon) attract outdoorsmen of all kinds. But one thing's for sure, mountain bikers have made it clear that Idaho belongs to them too!

Many maintained trails are located around Boise and Sun Valley, but I think northern Idaho has some of the most scenic trails nationwide. Unless you live in this part of the country, Coeur d'Alene and Sandpoint may require a nice long road trip, but it'll be a drive well worth even the price of gas. Road trip anyone?
If you need a recommendation for a camping location in northern Idaho, I suggest you check out the Pan Handel National Forest. There are nine campgrounds with water and bathrooms, and you'll have plenty of trails to explore. Call the toll free number for more information (877) 444-6777.
