Camelbak Hydration Packs

The Leader in Mountain Biking Hydration

Camelbak hydration packs have become the genericized trademark for hydration systems.

Just as Google, Band-Aid, Jello, Frisbee, and Kleenex, have become the generic description for their respective products, so too, Camelbak has become the term that mountain bikers use to refer to any hydration system.

Go ahead and call your High Sierra, Kelty, or Nalgene Hydration pack a Camelbak if you feel like it...

Thanks to Camelbak's ingenious hydration packs, dehydration is becoming less of an issue on the trail.  Studies have shown that riders do drink more fluids when using hydration packs.  Why did they even have to do a study on that one?  It's all about convenience my friend.

Now, mountain bikers can better fight those annoying headaches, that dry-mouth irritation, and the more sever symptoms of dehydration like chills and dizziness.  Camelbak hydration packs simply offer us riders more energy to tackle those challenging and adrenaline pumping singletracks.

This Year's Top 5 Camelbak Hydration Packs

Mule Hydration Pack

If you are looking for a system that balances weight with features, this is it...but plan on spending about $60.

The Camelbak Mule comes in five different colors (blue, black, orange, green and brown.  It has become the standard hydration pack for most mountain bikers so chances are you'll see all five colors by the end of summer without ever having to step foot into your bike shop.

The Mule would serve you and your bike all day long.  All you'll need is a few fluid refills.

Lobo Hydration Pack

Lighter than the Mule, the Lobo System offers less cargo space, but we like light don't we?

For around $50 you can conveniently stay hydrated, pack the basics with you on the trail, and do it comfortably.

It too comes in various colors so you can look spiffy.  This pack will serve you well for those half-day rides.  You can even squeeze in a full-day of backcountry riding using this pack.

Camelbak Chaos Hydration Pack

For the extreme mountain biker, the Chaos hydration pack is built to last.  It's heavy duty design will withstand all those severe beatings you're likely to give it.  It retails at around $70.

It's equipped with super-strong zippers, all the straps you'll need to keep it securely fastened to your body, and enough room to carry the goods.  It also has the ability to secure a full-faced helmet, shin guards, and elbow guards to the outside.

Simply the best hydration pack an extreme mountain biker could ask for.  Look for similar packs under Camelbak's Outlaw series.

Hawg Hydration Pack

The perfect epic riding hydration system and gear pack.  The pack to get for any multi-day mountain biking adventure.  There is enough room for 3 liters of fluid, extra clothes, a pump, food, and well...enough room to haul everything you'll need.

Plan on spending at least 100 bucks on this big boy.  If you want room, the Hawg is a great hydration choice.

Camelback Classic Hydration Pack

Practical and lightweight, the Classic pack is designed for rides lasting about 2 hours.  It carries your basics like your keys and wallet, but space is limited.

Weight makes a big difference, so don't buy a hydration system that offers more features than you'll actually use.  You can find these for sale around the $40 benchmark.
